BLACKWOOD, NJ, June 07, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kathleen Kershaw has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Fueled by her passion to inspire a lifelong appreciation for music, Ms. Kershaw studied music education at The College of New Jersey where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education with a concentration in voice. She then joined Chestnut Ridge Middle School in Sewell, New Jersey. Hired by the Washington Township Public School District in 2016 as a chorus teacher and the director of choral activities, she instructs students in grades six through eight. In this capacity, Ms. Kershaw focuses on the development of music literacy and culture, while also helping students explore their own voices. Among her many achievements at the middle school, Ms. Kershaw established a boys' ensemble and a girls' ensemble. She also led her choir group to win the B101 Christmas Choir Competition.
As an extension of her career, Ms. Kershaw is active as the artistic director of Rancocas Valley Singers and a former performer and music director for the Moorestown Theater Company. She is also a performer with the Mendelssohn Club Chorus of Philadelphia and a performer and music director with Riverfront Community Players.
Ms. Kershaw attributes her success in the field to several teachers and mentors whom she developed relationships with during college. She was also influenced by her mother, who was an elementary school teacher for 38 years, as well as her grandparents, who taught school-aged children.
