Allison Eugenia Bogart Turner continues to work toward serving neglected populations and unmet medical needs particularly in low- and middle-income countries.

MONTREAL, QC, June 10, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Allison Eugenia Bogart Turner has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A distinguished researcher and scientist, Ms. Turner co-founded PnuVax Incorporated in 2008, currently headquartered Kingston, Canada. PnuVax is dedicated to the development and manufacture of high-quality biopharmaceuticals for the promotion of public health worldwide, with a large-scale biomanufacturing facility in Montreal, Canada. In her position, she oversees the firm's product development, working specifically on lower-cost versions of vaccines and treatments for infectious diseases such as pneumonia, ebola, MERS, yellow fever, and now also COVID-19. PnuVax has developed the only known pneumococcal conjugate vaccine candidate to date with a target price of only one dollar per dose.

Prior to her current post, Ms. Turner gained valuable experience as a research assistant and adjunct instructor in the chemical engineering department at Queen's University, sharing supervision of multidisciplinary engineering consulting projects performed for industrial sponsors from companies across Canada and the United States. Ms. Turner's research focused on using adipose-derived stem cells with bioinstructive materials for applications in soft tissue regeneration without the need for exogenous differentiation factors.

Ms. Turner is also a devoted mentor and volunteer, deeply involved in engaging with her local start-up communities. She serves as a keynote speaker and an invited judge and mentor at various events and programs for the promotion of health innovation, encouraging entrepreneurial activities of students, professors, physicians, and community members alike.

Upon reflection, Ms. Turner attributes her success to her willingness to adapt and work openly with others, citing PnuVax's recent pivot, in which they leveraged their international collaborations on developing products for MERS toward developing lower-cost products for COVID-19. She entered her profession aiming to democratize access to vaccines and lifesaving products worldwide, and continues to work toward serving neglected populations and unmet medical needs particularly in low- and middle-income countries.

Ms. Turner obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science in chemical engineering in 2008, followed by a Master of Applied Science in chemical engineering with a biomedical engineering specialization in 2010, both from Queen's University in Kingston, Canada. During her scholarship with the university, she was honored with the Society of Chemical Industry Merit Award for the highest standing in her graduating year, the Canada Millennium Scholarship, the World Council Millennium Scholarship, the Dean's Scholarship in Applied Science, the Arthur & James McLaren Award, the 3M Canada Award, the Qamar Jehan Hassan Award, the R.S. McLaughlin Fellowship, and the Queen's University Graduate Award.
