Upon reflection, Ms. Turner attributes her success to her willingness to adapt and work openly with others, citing PnuVax's recent pivot, in which they leveraged their international collaborations on developing products for MERS toward developing lower-cost products for COVID-19. Ms. Turner obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science in chemical engineering in 2008, followed by a Master of Applied Science in chemical engineering with a biomedical engineering specialization in 2010, both from Queen's University in Kingston, Canada. During her scholarship with the university, she was honored with the Society of Chemical Industry Merit Award for the highest standing in her graduating year, the Canada Millennium Scholarship, the World Council Millennium Scholarship, the Dean's Scholarship in Applied Science, the Arthur & James McLaren Award, the 3M Canada Award, the Qamar Jehan Hassan Award, the R.S. McLaughlin Fellowship, and the Queen's University Graduate Award.
