James G. Bush Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Mr. Bush has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the field of geology

LOS FRESNOS, TX, June 16, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present James G. Bush with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Bush celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

An accomplished geologist who has contributed more than 45 years of experience to the field, Mr. Bush has served as the president and chief executive officer of Independence Resources Management Inc., now in Texas, since 2011. In his role, he has provided clients with his expertise regarding gold deposits, industrial mineral deposits, environmental projects, and on- and off-shore oil and gas projects throughout the U.S., Canada (mostly British Columbia), Japan, and other locations.

Mr. Bush garnered a reputation over the course of his professional journey, which began as a geological assistant for the U.S. Geological Survey in 1977 and 1978. Over the next 30 years, he held several leading roles, including the senior project manager and the Richland operations manager for ICF Kaiser Inc. Mr. Bush also served as the manager of the Field Hydrology and Chemistry Group for Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and as the president of Select Resources Corporation, Inc., and vice president of oil and gas exploration for Tri-Valley Corporation.

During his many years in the industry, Mr. Bush had the opportunity to participate in several projects that were influential in his career. In the earlier stage of his career, he determined the correct geologic model for Alaska's Valdez Creek gold deposit. His concept ultimately led to the largest placer gold producer in North America, (largest gold producer in Alaska) for approximately 10 out of 12 years, exactly what other investigators had been pursuing for more than two decades. Other achievements included generating the first geologic model for CO2 production/storage for Atlantic Richfield, plaintiff's expert witness in the Exxon Valdez oil spill trial, and key geological appraiser for net-operating-loss sales for several Alaska Native Corporations. One of which, at that time, was the largest single tax right down in the history of the United States, ultimately providing financial support for many native peoples in Alaska. Currently, Mr. Bush is helping south Texas protect the local small town residents from extreme flood insurance requirements due to mapping errors by FEMA (the Federal Emergency Management Agency).

As a seasoned researcher, Mr. Bush has published numerous professional publications and reports and has frequently presented in his area of expertise. Additionally, he holds one U.S. patent in the field. To remain aware of developments in his field, Mr. Bush has been a member of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration; American Association of Petroleum Geologists; American Chemical Society; American Institute of Professional Geologists; Alaskan Geological Society; Alaska Miner's Association; Society of Exploration Paleontologists and Mineralogists (exp); Society of Exploration Geophysicists (exp); Association of Ground Water Scientists & Engineers, National Water Well Association (exp); and has been intermittently active in the Reaction Research Society.

Looking toward the future, he aspires to continue working on new inventions and patents, publish key technical papers, and collaborate with large corporations and business executives invested in the industry. Additionally, Mr. Bush hopes to resolve some remaining issues raised in the Exxon Valdez oil spill trial, for which he served as an expert witness.

Mr. Bush graduated from The Ohio State University in 1972 (Bachelor of Science in geology) and South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 1978 (Master of Science in geology, orals and thesis defense in 1982). He is a registered geologist in Alaska, in Washington, and in the American Institute of Professional Geologists. He is certified, or previously certified, for Offshore Survival; H2S Safety; MSHA Mine Safety - U.S. Department of Labor; and Hazardous Waste Site Operations, in accordance with 49 CFR Part 1910.120. Mr. Bush was honored with Outstanding Performance Awards from ICF Kaiser Inc. and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Mr. Bush also served in the U.S. Navy Construction Force, where he was recognized as the Seabee of the Month in 1973.

Mr. Bush attributes much of his success to looking at every problem objectively and without preconceived notions, and the fulfillment he experiences while completing a project, making a new discovery, accomplishing something that provides benefit to many people, or that his peers said could not be done. He finds fulfillment in the diversity of the field, as well as the many challenges that must be overcome to achieve his goals.
