Marquis Who's Who has the highest levels of selection criteria based on demonstrated executive leadership, noteworthy accomplishments, industry recognition, and prominence achieved in a given field.
Contributing more than 25 years of expertise to the semiconductor industry, Mr. Hsu established NEO Semiconductor in San Jose, California, as its chief executive officer in 2012. Inspired to form his own company so that he could begin designing innovative technology for semiconductor memory, he has spent the past decade collaborating with and leading a passionate and talented team. In addition to developing various technologies, Mr. Hsu has created an impressive portfolio of patents and designs simulations of new technology architectures while serving as the visionary for researching and developing future product offerings.
NEO Semiconductor has notably made several advances in the high-speed memory market segment, including breakthroughs in 3D NAND and DRAM architectures. The organization has also secured over 20 U.S. patents for memory design architectures and cell structures.
Prior to founding NEO Semiconductor, Mr. Hsu had worked in the semiconductor industry for over 15 years in positions as a design manager, director of engineering, and vice president of engineering between 1996 and 2012. He notably led the research and development teams responsible for developing over 60 products in NOR flash, electrically erasable programmable read-only memory, and non-volatile static random-access memory. Mr. Hsu has since garnered the achievement of more than 120 U.S. patents in non-volatile memory.
Mr. Hsu received a Bachelor of Science at National Cheng-Kung University in Taiwan. He subsequently attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he began studying neural networks and artificial intelligence and graduated with a Master of Science in electrical, computer, and system engineering.
Mr. Hsu is presently a member of the Conference Advisory Board for Flash Memory Summit, which is the largest data storage industry conference globally.
Attributing much of NEO's success to his employees, Mr. Hsu has worked diligently to create a successful team that works collaboratively to achieve company goals. In accounting for his success, he credits the significant investments he has made in research and his persistent efforts to reach new goals and move the company forward. Recognizing his accomplishments in the industry, Mr. Hsu was honored to receive the Best of Show Award for Most Innovative Flash Memory Startup at the 2020 Flash Memory Summit. He was also selected to serve as a keynote speaker for the conference in 2020 and 2022.
