Leading a diverse career for nearly four decades, Mr. Rivero joined the Historic Tours of America in San Diego in 2019. As a certified tour guide, he conducts two-hour educational trolley tours for guests throughout the city on the Old Town Trolley Tours. An established entertainment company, Historic Tours of America has conducted tours and other services throughout the United States since the 1970s.
In addition to his commitments as a lead conductor, customer service representative, tour guide, and community ombudsman, Mr. Rivero joined the Town and Country Resort of San Diego as a concierge in 2022. He previously served in several roles in the hospitality sector, as well as in events management, arts and entertainment, sales and transportation. Among them, Mr. Rivero represented SuperShuttle International as a reservations department manager, dispatch operations manager, and originally as a driver. At The Beverly Hilton Mr. Rivero served as the director of audio-visual services, ballroom stage manager, event planning coordinator, show producer, and technical director.
During his career in the arts and entertainment industry, Mr. Rivero had the opportunity to serve as the technical director for the Daytime Emmy Awards, served as the co-founder of the annual Hollywood Film Festival Awards Dinner and Awards Show, and the 20th Century Fox Studios Annual International Marketing Conference. He also collaborated with Dick Clark Productions as a video projectionist for The Golden Globe Awards and spent 12 years as the director of audio-visual services for Merv Griffin at The Beverly Hilton.
Active in various community affairs, Mr. Rivero has contributed as a volunteer for the San Diego Pride Association and the Christopher Street West Association in Los Angeles, and as a dispatch manager for the Los Angeles Marathon and the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympic Games. Professionally, he supports his career through membership with the Professional Tour Guide Association of San Diego.
Mr. Rivero graduated from Poway High School in 1981. Following this accomplishment, he studied at Loyola Marymount University on a full scholarship between 1981 and 1986. While attending college, Mr. Rivero served for one year as the entertainment editor and two years as the editor-in-chief of the university newspaper, The Los Angeles Loyolan. During his tenure at The Loyolan, Mr. Rivero was a contributing writer for The Stars & Stripes magazine, Time & Life magazines along with The Santa Monica Evening Outlook and The Los Angeles Times. Mr. Rivero was published as a recognized "Rising Young American" in Marquis Who's Who in 1981.
