As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Upon graduating from Passaic High School in 1956, Ms. Lawson became a licensed practical nurse through Paterson Vocational School. Over the years, she gained valuable professional expertise as a loss prevention manager for JC Penney, where she served for more than 20 years, as the owner and operator of The Tasty Dog, and as a nurse for the BJC Medical Center. During the course of her work with JC Penney, Ms. Lawson also completed an associate degree in criminal justice at Gainesville State College in 1981.
