WELLESLEY, MA, June 29, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Samuel Nun, MD, FACOG, MPH, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

An expert in mentoring advancing medical professionals, Dr. Nun was a dedicated obstetrician and gynecologist for more than 50 years. Originally from Chile, he was inspired to join the medical field when he was eight years old. His mother needed to have her gallbladder removed, and he found the surgery and process fascinating. The surgeon allowed him to enter the operating room to observe, and consequently, his desire to become a doctor was established. He ultimately chose to work in obstetrics and gynecology to deliver children into the world, bringing happiness to society.

To prepare for his career in health care, Dr. Nun earned a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Chile in 1966 and a Master of Public Health at the same institution in 1969. He moved to New York for his fellowship at the Margaret Sanger Research Bureau in 1971 and subsequently underwent his residency at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in 1976. Following his academic accomplishments, he attained his medical license in Massachusetts and is certified in obstetrics and gynecology from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Nun began his career as a professor of obstetrics and gynecology and also practiced as an obstetrician and gynecologist until his retirement three years ago. In this capacity, he saw patients at the hospital daily and taught medical students and residents. Additionally, he contributed his own research to professional journals, including "Intrauterine devices in the immediate, early, and late postabortion period," "Mesonephroma of the ovary" and "Variations in seminal plasma constituents from fertile, subfertile, and vasectomized azoospermic men."

To remain aware of developments affecting his field, he was a member of the American Medical Association and the Boston Obstetrical Society. To commemorate his accomplishments, he was honored with the America's Best Physicians Award in 2020, 2021 and 2022, in addition to being admitted as a fellow to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
