Todd S. Netland has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

Mr. Netland is recognized for his expertise as a professional pianist, composer and arranger

PACHECO, CA, June 30, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Todd S. Netland has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A successful pianist, Mr. Netland has worked as a musician for more than 40 years. A neighbor and piano teacher, Peggy Winters, discovered he had perfect pitch when he was seven years old when it was evident that he was a synesthete, a person who senses music through colors. He first played a melody on piano when he was five and learned to play chordal harmonies when he was nine. Following this accomplishment, Mr. Netland started taking piano lessons from his aunt, herself a pianist and composer, until he studied under Sergei Mihailloff, who in turn, had studied under the outstanding pianist, classical composer, and conductor, Sergei Rachmaninoff, two years later. Mr. Mihailloff said concerning Netland, "Rachmaninoff once said, 'every person is a certain percent man and a certain percent musician. I believe I am 95 percent musician and 5 percent man.' I believe that the percentage of musician in Todd's case is higher than 95 percent."

After his private lessons, Mr. Netland earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in applied piano from California State University East Bay, in 1982. He began his career as a pianist and organist at a small Baptist church in Hayward in 1979. In 1980, he was a pianist in the Swing Shift Band at Marriott's Great America. In 1981, he was a ragtime pianist in the Snoshoe Saloon at Marriott's Great America. Mr. Netland continued his creative career as piano accompanist and arranger for the fulltime gospel group, Sound of Joy from mid-1982 to the end of 1989. He then became a fulltime piano accompanist for the Christian music group, Celebrant Singers from mid-1990 to the end of 2002. During these years, he traveled to 49 states and more than 50 countries, including such places as India, China, Hong Kong, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Kenya, Tanzania, and Poland. In 1993, he had the privilege of playing the piano for the late Mother Teresa. After this, he was the church pianist at San Lorenzo Baptist Church from early 2003 to the middle of 2006 until he became the pianist at Concord New Hope Church International. He traveled with Tom Cox on various missionary trips during this time as a concert pianist in Peru, Chile, and Israel. He also was worship leader on a number of short-term missionary trips to Hungary and Romania with Pastor Tibor Ambrus.

In recognition of his talent and expertise in classical music, Mr. Netland has been honored with multiple awards throughout his career. In 1970, he performed two winning compositions in Pasadena for the annual Music Teachers Association of California: "Evening on the Desert" and "Sounds and Images at Night". Other composition awards included "Summer Evening Thunder Shower" performed in Palo Alto in 1971, "Pacific Ocean Suite" performed in Pacific Grove in 1973, "Moonset" performed in San Diego in 1974, and "San Diego" performed in Oakland in 1975. In 1974, he received an honorable mention for his composition, "Sierra Nevada Suite".

In addition to his musical career, Mr. Netland has authored two published works: Fame and Fortune Tellers, published by Xulon Press in 2015, and Is the Rapture the Real Deal, with CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform in 2018.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Netland intends to continue performing concerts, composing, and arranging music including for symphony orchestra and choirs. He also plans to perform duets with his wife, Wendy Flagg-Netland, who has a beautiful operatic soprano voice.

Mr. Netland's hobbies include bike riding, swimming, chess, and crossword puzzles.
