Mr. Huessy initially obtained a master's degree, magna cum laude, in international affairs and public diplomacy from Columbia University in New York in 1975. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in international relations, national security studies and anthropology from Beloit College in Wisconsin. Moreover, Mr. Huessy received an international scholars designation from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea after studying there from 1969-70.
Since 1982, Mr. Huessy has been president of his defense consulting firm GeoStrategic Analysis. He recently joined the Hudson Institute as Senior Defense Fellow as well as the Atlantic Council as Visting Defense Fellow. Previously, he was assistant to the Secretary of Interior with a portfolio of international energy affairs and state relations for the U.S. Department of the Interior from 1979 to 1981. Mr. Huessy was also recruited as a senior defense consultant for the National Defense University Foundation, and for 22 years worked to ensure United States' collective and international security and higher education for the US military.

Furthermore, Mr. Huessy has penned articles in the Washington Times, Gatestone Institute, The Hill, Human Events, The National Review, the National Interest, Maven Warrior, Fox News and Frontiers of Freedom. Likewise, he has appeared as a guest frequently on John Batchelor and Don Smith's syndicated radio programs. In the future, Mr. Huessy hopes to make additional television appearances while adding more written works to his portfolio.
Mr. Huessy has been presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Defense Industry Association.
