EL PASO, TX, July 08, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to honor Victor M. Renteria with inclusion in Who's Who in the World. An accomplished listee, Mr. Renteria celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Transitioning into secondary school education in 1990 unexpectedly, Mr. Renteria felt unfulfilled in his career and sought change. Having served over two years as a substitute teacher for the El Paso Independent School District in El Paso, Texas, Mr. Renteria subsequently completed the necessary certification, was evaluated for his credentials and was hired on a full-time basis to teach mathematics to English as a second language students at the district's Bowie High School.

Teaching approximately 12 to 31 students, Mr. Renteria notes that he follows a similar teaching style to that of a former teacher, Mr. Huntley, who was very inspirational when he attended school. Finding great satisfaction in changing the lives of his students, he frequently tailors his lessons to accommodate each of their individual needs. Looking toward the future, Mr. Renteria plans to teach for several more years and possibly retire after he reaches the 30-year milestone with the district.

Enduring many obstacles during his career in education, including trying to overcome the lack of values that students place on education, Mr. Renteria relies on both patience and extensive planning to ensure their success. However, Mr. Renteria is grateful for the introduction of technology into the classroom, including iPads, which have been instrumental for him as well as his students.

Mr. Renteria also spent more than 15 years as an engineering content instructor for TexPrep, which was the Texas Pre-Engineering Program based at the University of Texas in El Paso, from 1992 to 2008. Mr. Renteria also garnered expertise as a product and test supervisor for Rockwell International in El Paso from 1983 to 1985 and worked in production and test technology for GUS Manufacturing Inc. in El Paso between 1977 and 1982. Additionally, Mr. Renteria was a karate instructor for the El Paso Parks & Recreation Department from 1977 to 1992.

A dedicated civil advocate, Mr. Renteria has been a contributor to Shriners Hospitals for Children, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Disabled Veterans of America.

Mr. Renteria's performance in the field was born of his academic journey from the University of Texas at El Paso, receiving his BS in electrical engineering in December 1973. Mr. Renteria also has received more than 1,000 continuing professional education hours through the El Paso Independent School District and received certification as a teacher in the state of Texas and as a Nearpod educator. Within the last three years, Mr. Renteria has amassed over 900 training hours to earn 72 badges in the Microsoft in Education program.

To remain aware of developments affecting his field, Mr. Renteria previously aligned himself with the International Society for Technology in Education and the Mathematical Association of America until about 2000. Mr. Renteria is also a 40+ year member of the University of Texas at El Paso Alumni Association and the Tau Kappa Epsilon Alumni Association.

To commemorate his accomplishments, Mr. Renteria was honored with a 25-Year Service Pin from the El Paso Independent School District. Mr. Renteria has also been consistently named as the National Honor Roll's Outstanding Teacher, in addition to receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award.
