Mr. Saraceni serves as an expert in blood banking and laboratory medicine

Since 2021, Mr. Saraceni has found much success as the director of pathology and laboratory medicine at the University of California Davis Health.

WOODLAND, CA, July 14, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fabrizio Saraceni has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Drawing on over three decades of expertise, Mr. Saraceni specializes in pathology and laboratory medicine. Prior to embarking on his professional journey, he pursued an education at New York University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry in 1980. He continued his academic efforts at Georgetown University, earning a Master of Science in organic photochemistry in 1983 and, subsequently, a Master of Science in biology and biological sciences from Bowling Green State University in 1992. Mr. Saraceni concluded his scholarly endeavors at Arizona State University, attaining a Master of Business Administration in 2017.

As a commitment to his field, Mr. Saraceni has been certified as a medical technologist and as a specialist in blood banking. Additionally, he has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the American Association for Quality, the Air Force Association and the American Society for Clinical Pathology, among others.

In 1984, Mr. Saraceni began his career in the United States Air Force, initially serving as a deputy for the Armed Services Blood Program, and later as a squadron commander at an Air Force Hospital at Luke Air Force Base. He subsequently advanced to become the chief of the Air Force Blood Program before retiring as a lieutenant colonel in 2005. Following the conclusion of his service, he worked as a director of quality for Blood Systems Inc., where he managed quality units at donor centers under various companies. From 2007 to 2015, he garnered expertise first as a laboratory manager and then as an administrative laboratory director at the Banner Health Hospital Network Laboratory Sciences of Arizona, until he advanced to the post of senior administrative laboratory director between 2015 and 2021.

Since 2021, Mr. Saraceni has found much success as the director of pathology and laboratory medicine at the University of California Davis Health. In this capacity, he is responsible for providing laboratory services to clinics that belong to the Davis Health network and to clients outside of the hospital for special testing. Likewise, Mr. Saraceni performs molecular testing to identify COVID infections and ensures that the laboratory has the resources to execute the testing that is needed for the care of their patients both financially and technologically.

Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Mr. Saraceni has contributed his time and services to the American Heart Association, and coordinated medical humanitarian missions for the Air Force Reserves, where reserve units established medical clinics in countries across the globe to provide primary medical care to local civilians. Among his professional accomplishments, he is most proud of his leadership during 9/11, when he was able to provide storage for blood donations at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey for blood units not used due to the casualty rate, thus saving and supporting 5,000 units of blood that otherwise would not be viable for future use. He attributes much of his success to his leadership skills and to his ability to train his team, which he is gratified in knowing his tutelage equipped them to commendably handle and navigate all operations at the time. Looking toward the future, Mr. Saraceni aspires to leave behind a legacy by extending the capabilities of the University of California Davis Health beyond the reach of its current footprint and expanding the business model of services to be provided at the organization.
