LA MIRADA, CA, July 14, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael A. Lessard-Clouston, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Driven to pursue a career in education, Dr. Lessard-Clouston earned a Bachelor of Arts in English-French translation with a minor in English language and linguistics from York University in 1985. He subsequently received a Master of Theological Studies from Tyndale Seminary in 1989 and a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from the University of Toronto in 1991. During the early stages of his career, he worked as a professor for several universities in China and as an assistant and associate professor of English and language education for Kwansei Gakuin University in Japan. To further his expertise, Dr. Lessard-Clouston also completed a Doctor of Philosophy in second language education and L2 literacy through the University of Toronto in 2005.
Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Lessard-Clouston has gained valuable knowledge in the field of education as a professor of English as a Second Language for Seneca College and as an adjunct professor of TESOL for Concordia University Irvine. Similarly, he served with a private language school in Toronto for five years. Drawing on his considerable experience, he presently excels as a professor of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) for Biola University. Since joining the institution in 2005, Dr. Lessard-Clouston has developed graduate courses, taught between four and six classes a semester, mentored between 25 and 30 students at any given time and maintained responsibility for collating, editing and publishing relevant research.
To remain aware of developments affecting his field, Dr. Lessard-Clouston aligns himself with the TESOL International Association, the Asian Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language, the California Association of Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages, and the Christian English Language Educators Association. Long dedicated to civic advocacy, he contributes to his community as a board member with Japan Christian Link.
Known for his scholarly output, Dr. Lessard-Clouston has contributed to several works, including "Teaching Vocabulary" and "Second Language Acquisition Applied to English Language Teaching" through TESOL Press, "International Journal of Christianity and English Language Teaching" and "Specialized Vocabulary Learning and Use in Theology," as well as various articles in professional journals. To commemorate his accomplishments, Dr. Lessard-Clouston has received a fellowship through the Tyndale Seminary, graduate assistantships through the University of Toronto and scholarships through the TESOL International Association and the California Association of Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages.

Looking toward the future, Dr. Lessard-Clouston intends to write and publish an additional book and continue his support of the International Journal of Christianity and English Language Teaching before retiring.
