PASO ROBLES, CA, July 15, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Barbara A. Benson, CNMT, RDMS, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Benson celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Benson has leveraged more than 35 years of expertise in nuclear medicine and health care as a certified nuclear medicine technologist and registered diagnostic medical sonographer. Affiliated with Coastal Cardiology since 2001 and Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton, California, since 1986, Ms. Benson's role incorporates equipment testing on nuclear cameras and dose calibrators, providing patient assistance, and conducting tests in such areas as cardiac imaging, infusion and the proper dosing of radioactive materials. Notably, Coastal Cardiology is accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission.

Fortunate to have been given the opportunity to work for Twin Cities Community Hospital, Ms. Benson has been able to explore the field of nuclear medicine, further develop her skills and knowledge, and expand her capabilities. She also had the opportunity to participate in numerous clinical studies, including one that included the use of a monoclonal antibody imaging series that resulted in approval by the Food and Drug Administration. Prior to being acquired by the hospital, Ms. Benson notably garnered experience at a local doctor's office and a medical center in Wilmington, Delaware.

An empathetic and caring professional, Ms. Benson enjoys making her patients feel better, both physically and emotionally. She also appreciates being surrounded by a team of experienced physicians and colleagues that work cohesively together. Looking toward the future, Ms. Benson hopes to retire and dedicate more of her spare time to volunteering at a homeless shelter in her area.

A third-generation medical professional, Ms. Benson was inspired to pursue her field by her mother, a nurse who dedicated her career to caring for others. After high school, she graduated from Brandywine Junior College, now known as Widener University, where she received an associate degree in 1968. Well qualified in her field, Ms. Benson received certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and as a certified nuclear medicine technologist and registered diagnostic medical sonographer.

Ms. Benson remains aware of developments affecting her field through her affiliation with the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging and the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Ms. Benson has also been active as a coordinator for the American Heart Association, as a professional education committee chair and clinical board member of the American Cancer Society's Morrison County chapter and as a member and past president of the West Tennessee Organization of Nuclear Medicine Technologists.

To commemorate her accomplishments, Ms. Benson was nominated for an Employee of the Year Award by Twin Cities Community Hospital in 2000. She previously garnered recognition with an Outstanding Service as President Award from the Western Tennessee Organization of Nuclear Medicine Technologists in 1979. Ms. Benson attributes her success to her passion and desire to help others.
