Mrs. Heathcote graduated from the Iowa Culinary Institute in 2012 with two associate degrees in culinary arts and hotel & restaurant management. After graduation, she completed an externship in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Eastside Cannery with a talented chef who trained with Emeril Lagasse.
In addition to her professional experience, Julie is also well regarded for her dedication to civic advocacy, regularly participating as a mentor for Big Brothers and Sisters of Central Iowa since 2010, for which she received the Governor's Award. She also donates to the Spring Greens event through the Des Moines Area Religious Council for local food pantries, among other events to give back to the community, and is a member of the Adel City of Commerce. Over the course of her career, Mrs. Heathcote has been presented with numerous accolades, including the People's Choice Award for Des Moines Best Caterer. In light of her numerous achievements, Mrs. Heathcote attributes much of her success to her strength, faith and dedicated work ethic.
