Following the conclusion of his military career, Mr. Owens began as a police officer for the St. Pauls Police Department in 2009, and was promoted to his present role as the chief of police in 2022. As part of his dedication to the profession, he is a member of the North Carolina Chiefs Association and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
As further evidence of his commitment to his community, Mr. Owens is active in veteran groups, supports local non-profits, and assists in community events. He is a member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars. Looking toward the future, he plans to continue expanding the scope of his police department and create more youth programs on behalf of the community. He is also pursuing a degree in criminal justice to deepen his expertise in the field.
