Since 2018, Mr. Nguyen has served as the associate director of the small business development center for Nicholls State University.

With over a decade of excellence to his credit in business development, Mr. Nguyen dedicates his expertise to helping others start their own businesses. To prepare for his career, he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Nicholls State University in 2009. After graduating, he began his career as a manager trainee for Tower Loan in 2009, after which he served as a worksite independent producer for Conseco in 2010. The next year, he functioned as a program manager for the South Central Planning and Development Commission, and later became a human resource coordinator for Lowe's Companies Inc. in 2014. Mr. Nguyen continued his career as the associate director for the Louisiana Small Business Development Center in 2015.
Since 2018, Mr. Nguyen has served as the associate director of the small business development center for Nicholls State University. In this capacity, he meets with clients who want to either start or expand their business and helps them construct a business plan and gain funding for their ambitions. They are a government program funded by SBA and LED, which enables Mr. Nguyen to help everyone who needs his expertise to fulfil their dreams free of charge as a public service. He has also lent his expertise as a contributor to "How Organizations are Coming Together for Business Recovery," which published with the Houma Times in 2021.
Additionally, out of a passion for education and his love for the local community, Mr. Nguyen works with the Terrebonne Foundation for Academic Excellence, which provides funding and resources for students in public education. He also helped recovery efforts following Hurricane Ida, for which he was honored with an Excellence in Innovation Award.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Nguyen's goal is to help establish a business incubator in their region through which they can house up to 40 entrepreneurs. He was inspired to develop this facility after many commercial buildings were destroyed by Hurricane Ida, depriving many small businesses of their former locations. As his clients have endured this tragedy and the struggles from the COVID-19 pandemic, he works to solve his clients' problems collaboratively, motivating him to help them recover their success however he can.
