After working in the oil and gas industry for 38 years in a wide variety of technical and senior management positions around the world, Dr. Kennelley founded Kennelley & Associates LLC as president and chief executive officer. As a tenured leader in the oil and gas industry, Dr. Kennelley and his team focus on streamlining the processes and practices for clients seeking to complete large-scale projects, plant turnarounds, oil spill response and disaster recovery.

Dr. Kennelley formerly garnered recognition as the Vice President of Upstream Major Projects and Technology for Maersk Oil based out of Copenhagen, Denmark from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that he spent over two decades with BP Upstream in a variety of technical and leadership positions including Vice President of Facilities Technology, Upstream, V.P. of Engineering and Technology for E&P Major Projects, Projects and Engineering Director for Gulf of Mexico deep water projects and operations as well as serving as the Engineering Authority for the region. Prior to joining BP, Dr. Kennelley held various technical positions in ARCO Oil and Gas Company.

During Dr. Kennelley's four decades in the industry, he spent over 20 years working overseas. As the Engineering Director for BP Azerbaijan he was a key member of the leadership team which increased the overall production of oil from 90,000 barrels a day to 1.2 million barrels per day. Among other achievements, Dr. Kennelley helped build two oil and gas pipelines from Azerbaijan through Georgia to Turkey, despite many industry leaders believing that it was not possible.

As a seasoned researcher, Dr. Kennelley has secured several U.S. patents in his field. He has also contributed over 40 peer-reviewed articles in industry-related publications and more than 30 technical articles to various professional journals. Furthermore, Dr. Kennelley was the editor of the 1991 book, "Flow-Induced Corrosion" and the author of a book chapter in the 1988 text, "Calcium Magnesium Acetate."

Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, Dr. Kennelley received a Bachelor of Science degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1980, followed by a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in metallurgical engineering/material sciences in 1985 and 1986, respectively. Dr. Kennelley is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas.

To remain aware of developments affecting his field, Dr. Kennelley was a member of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers and the American Society of Metals. He was also a member of Tau Beta Pi and Sigma Xi. Honoring his achievements, Dr. Kennelley has been the recipient of an award for his work on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System, a D. Grant Mickle Award from the National Transportation Safety/American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a Campbell Award from the National Association of Corrosion Engineers in 1994 for the best published paper by an author under the age of 35.

Looking toward the future, Dr. Kennelley hopes to continue consulting and mentoring the younger generation of engineers, as well as develop new relationships with others in the field. Reflecting on his career, Dr. Kennelley notes that he has always strived to lead with integrity and help others throughout their professional journeys in the industry.
