James C. Lary, AMF, has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

Mr. Lary celebrated for more than three decades of professional experience as a first responder

    MIDLAND, TX, August 15, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- James C. Lary, AMF, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. With more than 30 years' experience in emergency services, including an excess of 24 years in Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF), Mr. Lary dedicates his professional life to serving his community as a first responder. He commenced his career as an accountant for Texaco in 1988 and pivoted his focus in 1992 to work with the local fire department — an affiliation he maintains to the present day. Mr. Lary has been involved with aircraft rescue since 1998 and earned the position of ARFF chief for the Midland International Air and Space Port of the Midland Fire Department in 2018. As the lead officer for airport related emergencies, he represents the fire department at the airport and trains officers and engineers in aircraft rescue. He also manages the budget for the aircraft rescue division.

Mr. Lary earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accountancy from The University of Texas Permian Basin in 1987 and an Associate of Applied Science in fire science from Odessa College in 1993. He is a member of the International Association of Fire Fighters, the Aircraft Rescue Firefighting Working Group, and the American Association of Airport Executives.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Lary has been recognized multiple times for his expertise in the industry. He published an article in the ARFF Working Group News on transitioning from structural firefighting to the world of aircraft rescue. He received a citation in 1996 for rescuing a man from a swimming pool and a second citation for resuscitation of a man who experienced cardiac arrest at a high school football game in 1998. He was again honored with a unit citation for aiding a man in 2012, who experienced cardiac arrest on an aircraft. Currently in the twilight years of his career, Mr. Lary is proud of his contributions to the field of emergency services. He looks forward to eventual retirement and spending time traveling.
