Ms. Konwinski is a specialist in the foundry profession, having accumulated more than four years of experience working on the design process for metal casting. She currently serves as production engineer at Barron Industries, where she oversees foundry operations, including outlining procedures based on customer requirements, reviewing drawings and purchase orders, collaborating with vendors and following a product's development to fruition.
With a natural talent for math and science, Ms. Konwinski became interested in her profession after a high school counselor suggested she investigate mechanical engineering as a potential career field. She enrolled at Saginaw Valley State University, where she became involved with the campus chapter of the American Foundry Society. To advance her skills, she took a position as research assistant at a foundry on campus, which cemented her interest. After obtaining a Bachelor of Applied Science in mechanical engineering from the university in 2019, she acquired her current role with Barron Industries in 2020.
