Eva L. Maddox Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Maddox with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Maddox celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Drawing on more than 50 years of experience as a designer and educator, Ms. Maddox serves as the consulting principal of Eva Maddox Design Strategies LLC. As the sole designer, she has worked with a multitude of corporate clients and institutions, for whom she provides her insight and expertise in the industry.

Ms. Maddox is the former principal of Eva Maddox Associates Inc. Established in 1975, she spent more than 25 years delivering brand communication services to such recognizable brands as Hallmark, DuPont and the Haworth Corporation. She also established Eva Maddox Branded Environments, a trademark and brand of Eva Maddox Associates Inc. Prior to forming her current consulting firm, Ms. Maddox garnered recognition as a principal and board member of the global design firm, Perkins and Will. Most notably, she also co-founded Archeworks in 1994, a multidisciplinary design school that specialized in teaching innovative design solutions to students from around the world.

As an educator, Ms. Maddox gained experience as a faculty member at the Harrington Institute of Design between 1971 and 1975. She later served as an adjunct associate professor at the University of Illinois at the Chicago School of Architecture from 1990 to 1994. Furthermore, Ms. Maddox had the opportunity to serve as a visiting lecturer at numerous architectural design schools throughout the U.S. and abroad, including at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Ms. Maddox's work has been featured in several design books, including "Idea Spotting: How to Find Your Next Great Idea" in 2006, "Interior Design Handbook of Professional Practice" in 2002, and "Great Store Design" in 1996, as well in several periodicals, The New York Times, and many other professional publications and national newspapers. She was also the subject of the 2017 book "EVA MADDOX: Designer, Innovator, Educator" by Romy Wyllie. Likewise, Ms. Maddox co-authored "50 Under 50: Innovators of the 21st Century" in collaboration with Beverly Russell and Farooq Ameen.

Outside of her primary career endeavors, Ms. Maddox has served as an instrumental leader for a multitude of civic, non-profit, and educational organizations. She is a former board member for the Architecture and Design Society of the Art Institute of Chicago, a former board member of Studio College International in Florence, Italy, and an emeritus trustee of the University of Cincinnati Foundation. Ms. Maddox has also been active on the auxiliary board of the Chicago Architectural Foundation, the advisory board of Lakefront Supportive Housing and, among many other roles, the benefit committee for Access Living.

Ms. Maddox studied at the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning where she received a Bachelor of Science in design in 1966. She has been active with many professional organizations throughout her subsequent career, including the Women's Leadership Center and the International Women's Forum. Moreover, Ms. Maddox is a past chair of The Chicago Network and an associate member of the American Institute of Architects.

Recognized for her contributions to the field, Ms. Maddox was awarded with an Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati and the Kendall College of Art and Design at Ferris State University. Throughout her prestigious career, she received over 200 Design Excellence Awards for her leadership and innovation in interior architecture, design and brand communication and was honored with the Contract LEGEND Award in 2011. Ms. Maddox was also inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame in 1992, named as the Chicagoan of the Year by Chicago Magazine in 2001, and selected as a Purpose Prize Fellow in 2007 and 2008.
