In her role, Ms. Advocate oversees several departments, providing guidance and mentorship for employees to help the organization grow its lead in keyless lock solutions. She supports Digilock's sales and marketing efforts and oversees the company's accounting team, supply chain, operations and technology. She also maintains the company's SOC 2 compliance and was directly involved with the establishment of a manufacturing facility in China.
While Ms. Advocate's career has been full of memorable achievements, she is especially proud of her promotion to the role of chief financial officer in 2007, as well as her nomination as the Top CFO in the North Bay in 2016. She began her career with Digilock after graduating from college, working initially as a sales and marketing assistant and subsequently as a sales manager and a marketing administrator. After earning an MBA, she was instrumental in assisting the company with its new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system by setting up modules, ensuring the proper functioning of the system, and assisting with accounting. Ms. Advocate was able to strengthen the accounting components of the system while also learning the different facets of financial reporting on a global level.
Ms. Advocate earned a Bachelor of Arts in communication and media studies from California State University-Sacramento in 2001, cum laude, and a Master of Business Administration in marketing from the University of Phoenix in 2005, summa cum laude. She was included in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
Outside of her primary professional functions, Ms. Advocate volunteers as treasurer of the Rancho Cotate High School Boosters, Inc. at Rancho Cotate High School in Rohnert Park, California. She is also an active member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West.
