VALENCIA, CA, August 22, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sam Paul Salman, BFA, has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. Drawing on eight years of experience in costume design, Mr. Salman is recognized for his creativity and business acumen as the co-owner of Northern Costume Co. In this role, he collaborates closely with clients in the TV, film, commercial and music video industries to determine and fulfill their costuming needs. This process often entails negotiating, developing cost estimates, creating patterns, and cutting and sewing garments.
Mr. Salman began his career in the garment industry; however, he pivoted his concentration to focus on film costuming to more effectively foster his creative nature. After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in costume design from the California Institute of the Arts in 2019, he opened his shop in the Valencia area, a studio-filled region that is home to a dearth of union costume shops. In 2020, Mr. Salman co-founded Northern Costume Co., and in just two years his company has gained a notable client list that includes HBO Max for "Euphoria," ABC for "The Neighborhood" and Hulu for "Dollface."
Adjacent to his work with Northern Costume Co., Mr. Salman is the director of Horse of Arabia, a company that designs menswear. Previously, he served as a costume designer for Premium Collectibles Studio, Global Effects Inc., Kim Bowen Productions, and Total Fabrication Inc. He was also a wardrobe assistant for Pytka Production Company and Psyop Productions and an art director for Karga Seven Productions. Moreover, Mr. Salman offered volunteer design services for Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Inc., a leading-edge order of queer and transgender nuns that leverage humor to expose the forces of bigotry.
Mr. Salman is working toward membership to the 705 Wardrobe Union and 892 Costume Designers Guild. Looking toward the future, he is excited to begin work on two short movies and a feature film. He looks forward to growing Northern Costume Co. by hiring additional seamstresses and tailors to execute projects while he focuses on other ventures.
