Mr. Boone has been a poet and fiction writer for more than 20 years. Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and creative writing in 1976 and a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing in 1992, both from Western Michigan University. Following these accomplishments, he studied law at Western Michigan Thomas M. Cooley Law School and became a licensed attorney in Michigan in 2009 and furthered his investigative skills by earning a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University with a concentration in Law Enforcement Intelligence and Analysis in 2021.
Mr. Boone has worked as an independent professional investigator since 2014 and also served two years as a special investigator for Perspecta Inc. working on several federal contracts on behalf of the National Background Investigation Bureau (NBIB) and the Unites States Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Transitioning his career to focus more on his writing and editing talents, Mr. Boone has been an associate editor for Transgress Press since 2017. In this capacity he edits various books, manuscripts and media content for the company. He has also authored numerous works, including short stories and poems that have been published internationally. Mr. Boone's collection of poetry, "Breakfast With Unicorns" has just been published by Transgress Press (August, 2022). Looking toward the future, Mr. Boone continues to write fiction and poetry with a first novel expected in Spring, 2023.
