To prepare for her profession in mental health care, Dr. Brand earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California Irvine and a Doctor of Psychology in clinical psychology from the Alliant University-San Diego. Following her academic accomplishments, she began her career as the director of hospital outpatient services, after which she became the program director for Miramar Health Inc. in 2007. Following this role, she served as the clinical director and administrator for the John Henry Foundation from 2009 to 2011.
Dr. Brand continued her career as the director of clinical operations for Jewish Federation & Family Services, Orange County, in 2011 and was promoted to interim president and chief executive officer in 2015. In 2016, she was further appointed as the chief operating officer, a position she held until 2019.
Since 2019, Dr. Brand has found success as the executive director of operations for Be Well OC. In this capacity, she oversees the Be Well Campuses, ensuring high-quality care for those who are struggling with mental health issues. The Be Well Campuses provide a unique model of care offered in award-winning healing environments designed to reduce stigma and increase access to treatment. Dr. Brand's is passionate about improving the system of mental health care and is a frequent speaker on the topics of mental health, treatment modalities, and the impact of leadership on improving the lives of others. She has also received various awards for her services to her community.
Looking toward the future, Dr. Brand hopes to help other communities build better models of care for those suffering with mental health and substance use issues. In her personal life, Dr. Brand enjoys spending time with her husband, a successful lawyer, and their family, which now includes two sons in college. She loves to travel and spend time in nature and hopes to visit every national park in the United States with her family.
