Lending decades of administration and hands-on expertise to the travel industry, Ms. Henderson has earned distinction as a successful business owner for several years. Prior to completing her private career, she served honorably in the United States Navy from 1988 to 1991. To prepare for her professional journey, she earned a Bachelor of Health Science from Baptist Health University.
During her military service, Ms. Henderson was a Petty Officer at the Supply Depot. Prior to going into the military, she began her career with a goal of becoming a Chief in the Medical Administration Service for the Department of Veteran Affairs beginning in 1984. While working in this capacity, she was recognized for her excellent work as the Employee of the Quarter in 1989 and was honored with a Suggestion Award in 1993. She also received a Special Contribution Award in 2000 and performance awards annually for her excellent work.
Throughout this period, Ms. Henderson also worked with Travel Web Associates for over 10 years. As she began focusing on her retirement from the federal government, so she took the H&R Block tax course and passed it on the first try at the top of her class. She was immediately hired by H&R Block where she worked for the next 25 years in various positions. She was asked and accepted a position as an instructor after her first year at Block. She functioned in a plethora of positions including office manager, year-round tax professional, evening supervisor for the district, instructor, Premium Tax Professional, during her tenure at H&R Block. During this time, she discovered an affinity for tax service, and resolved to take certification courses. Cultivating a passion for the field, she opened Henderson & Associates in 2017, which she currently owns. She continues to prepare taxes for clients upon referral. Ms. Henderson is an active member of the National Association of Tax Preparers. She continues to assist people with their travel plans, through the parent company of Travel Web Associates getting the best prices for their flights, vacations and performing research on their desired travel locations. Looking toward the future, Ms. Henderson plans to continue expanding the scope of her company while training her junior employees, passing on her knowledge and expertise in the field. She is currently preparing to sit for the Enrolled Agents Examination where she will represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service.
