Prior to his safety career, Mr. Cooter served in the United States Marine Corps from 2001 to 2009 as a Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Defense Specialist. During this time, he was deployed to Iraq and gained a wealth of experience applicable to the health and safety industry.
Mr. Cooter holds a Bachelor's Degree in Emergency and Disaster Management. He is a Certified Safety Professional, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, as well as an Associate in Risk Management. In addition, Mr. Cooter is a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals, the Board of Certified Safety Professionals and the National Safety Council. In honor of his expertise and dedicated work in the field, he was named as a Rising Star of Safety by the National Safety Council in 2015. In addition to his career, Mr. Cooter works with the non-profit American Corporate Partnership to help active-duty military and veterans transition to the private sector workforce and serves as an Assistant Scoutmaster for an all-girls Scouts BSA Troop.
