As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Drawing on 28 years of expertise as an attorney, Ms. Sharma-Crawford is recognized for her achievements in immigration litigation and authorship. Since 2003, she has served as the co-founder and partner of Sharma-Crawford Attorneys at Law, where she is responsible for the managerial duties of the firm, handling complex immigration litigation and family based immigration cases. In 2022, Ms. Sharma-Crawford authored and published "Aaliyah the Brave: Empowering Children Coping with Immigration Enforcement," a children's book intended to help migrants gain a better understanding of immigration-related processes and offer guidance about how to discuss these important issues with their families.

Ms. Sharma-Crawford attributes her success to her family and surrounding herself with a core group of people who support her in her endeavors. She notes that she was inspired by the belief that she was born to serve her community; Ms. Sharma-Crawford does not shy away from complicated cases as long as they can make a positive difference in people's lives. She is especially proud of her involvement in two cases heard before the U.S. Supreme Court. Ms. Sharma-Crawford's performance in the field was born of her academic journey. She finished both high school and her undergraduate studies in just three years each. She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology, with a minor in political science, sociology and philosophy from the University of Houston and a Juris Doctor from the Michigan State University College of Law.

In addition to her role with Sharma-Crawford Attorneys at Law, Ms. Sharma-Crawford is an instructor at the University of Kansas and Washburn University. Previously, she served as an immigration lawyer in the Kansas City metropolitan area, she was an Assistant District Attorney for the Douglas County District Attorney's Office, a prosecutor for the District Attorney's Office in Wichita, Kansas, and in-house counsel for Rent-A-Center.

Well regarded for her contributions to the field, Ms. Sharma-Crawford was honored by the Johnson County Bar Association with the 2021 Advocate Attorney Award, which recognizes significant contributions to the public interest by trying or settling an important precedent-setting case or distinguishing oneself as an advocate in the courtroom or on appeal. Also in 2021, Ms. Sharma-Crawford was nationally recognized by the American Immigration Lawyers Association by being awarded the Edith Lowenstein Memorial Award, for excellence in advancing the practice of immigration law. The Kansas Bar Association honored her with the Courageous Attorney Award in 2018, which is presented to attorneys who have displayed exceptional bravery in the face of adversity, and she received the Pro Bono Publico Award from the Missouri Bar Association in 2017.

Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. Sharma-Crawford is a board member of the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild and is the founder of the Clinic at Sharma-Crawford Attorneys at Law. She is also a board member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Missouri Bar and the Kansas Bar Association.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Sharma-Crawford aims to expand her firm beyond family-based immigration litigation to include employment-based immigration litigation.
