BAKERSFIELD, CA, August 31, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert Allen Berkowitz has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Supported by decades of experience in safety management, Mr. Berkowitz is a manager with the Griffith Company. In his role, he ensures compliance with Federal and State OSHA regulations as well as company/customer policies and procedures and assists project managers with submittals. He also coordinates emergency response and provides daily safety reports to upper management. Additionally, he maintains, coordinates and assists with job-site orientations and safety training, and leads site supervisors to enforce safety standards.
Prior to joining Griffith Company, Mr. Berkowitz held similar positions with Wallace & Smith Contractors, through which he created a specialized safety program, as well as Granite Construction, KS Industries, Guardian Safety Services, and Alpine Lumber and Hardware. Throughout the course of his career, he has been involved with numerous projects in the oil and gas industry and earned his EM385.1 certification, which allows him to operate on military bases. Further, he completed a variety of projects i.e. banks, schools, medical and government buildings, and restaurants.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Berkowitz assists others civically through his affiliation with a variety of missions in Long Beach, California. To remain current with industry-related trends, he maintains alignment with the American Society of Safety Professionals. Mr. Berkowitz has expanded on his expertise and has received his CHST "construction health and safety technician" thru the BCSP and receiving a universal safety and CPR certification from the Army Corps of Engineers.
In recognition of his contributions to the field of safety management, Mr. Berkowitz earned an award for the total recordable injury rate of 1.8 from the American General Contractors Community and several honorary plaques from the Architectural Institute of America. A desire to continue learning and a willingness to take responsible chances remain at the root of Mr. Berkowitz's success. Although he maintains a passion for his industry, he looks forward to easing into retirement in the coming years so that he can enjoy quality time with his loving wife Gabrielle, son Justin and daughter Melissa and grand kids.
