Later, he aligned with Corporate Express in Austell, Georgia, which was acquired by Staples Inc. in 2008. Quickly advancing into the position of a regional manager, Mr. O'Quin grew and refined a 65-person team with personnel in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Additionally, he developed best practice standard operating procedures and was instrumental in reducing annual expenses by $130 million.
Currently, Mr. O'Quin manages a $60 million budget. He also supports the management of several national accounts, as well as the performance of more than 50 sales representatives that produce approximately $200 million in annual revenue. In an effort to manage the region most effectively, Mr. O'Quin is regularly on the move; he travels out of state three weeks per month. Leveraging his former experience as a financial comptroller for a number of organizations, Mr. O'Quin incorporates his financial knowledge into the logistics aspects of his role to provide beneficial cost savings plans to both the company and its customers.
Mr. O'Quin received a Bachelor of Science in business management from Louisiana State University in 1985. Moreover, he earned several supply chain certifications through Accenture, including an advanced certification. Civically involved, Mr. O'Quin supports a number of charitable organizations through volunteer and donation efforts. He is affiliated with Goodwill Industries International Inc. and Habitat for Humanity.
