LOS ANGELES, CA, September 07, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Taiye Evbuomwan Osawe has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Drawing on over three decades of expertise in the medical field, Dr. Osawe specializes in mental health services. Prior to embarking on her professional journey, she pursued an education at California State University, where she obtained her bachelor's and master's degrees. She continued her academic efforts at Purdue University Global, earning a Doctor of Nursing Practice. As a commitment to her field, Dr. Osawe has been certified as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Association of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners, and the National Association of Nigerian Nurses in North America.

Dr. Osawe began her vocation as a registered nurse at Kaiser Permanente, where she worked for more than 10 years before contributing to the Los Angeles Correctional Health Services. Since 2019, she has built a prolific career serving as a nurse practitioner at the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. As of 2021, she has also found much success as the founder and chief executive officer of Salvage Care now Salvage Nursing Care, an organization serving the underprivileged individuals in the community and enlightening the public and health care providers on various mental health illnesses.

In this capacity, Dr. Osawe functions as a street psychiatric provider, and is responsible for providing mental health services to homeless individuals who live on the streets, shelters, and bridge housing. To wit, she evaluates and prescribes medications, and link patients to primary care providers for physical illnesses or to the psychiatric emergency room for acute mental health crises.

Among her professional accomplishments, Dr. Osawe is most proud of her compassion for the homeless population, whose mental illness is often neglected or marginalized. In her career related endeavors, she will be launching a technological health platform to help link individuals with mental health conditions to mental health providers. Looking toward the future, Dr. Taiye Osawe aspires to continue providing mental health services to the underprivileged and hopes to work in a practice clinic and virtual through Telehealth.
