DRESHER, PA, September 14, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert K. Reed has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

With more than 40 years of public service, Mr. Reed worked for more than 30 years as a federal prosecutor handling and supervising numerous federal criminal cases. As a result of his experience in the criminal justice system, he transitioned to focusing on identifying the root causes of crime and violence. He has implemented initiatives to reduce crime and violence, provided a voice to those most vulnerable in the community, worked to enhance the lives of the people returning to their communities from prison, and initiated an effort to create a trauma-informed Pennsylvania. Since 2017, he has been the Executive Deputy Attorney General for Special Initiatives in the Office of the Pennsylvania Attorney General (OAG). That year, with the support of the Governor and Attorney General, he founded the Pennsylvania Reentry Council, which for the first time, brought together people across Pennsylvania who are passionate about improving the lives of people returning to their homes from prison. In 2021, because the Pennsylvania OAG was recognized as the only Attorney General's Office in the country to establish a state-wide reentry initiative, Mr. Reed was asked to speak at the National Association of Attorneys General about the challenges and the successes of the Pennsylvania Reentry Council.

In 2017, Mr. Reed also started working to create a Trauma-Informed Pennsylvania. In 2020, he joined Governor Tom Wolf's newly created Office of Advocacy and Reform and participated in creating HEAL PA, an initiative to create a trauma-informed Pennsylvania. He was appointed to be a co-chair of an unprecedented effort to create a trauma-informed criminal justice system in Pennsylvania. In 2022, he was elected to the Board of Directors of HEAL PA.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Reed worked for more than 30 years in the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Washington, D.C. from 1982-1987 and, more recently, in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania from 1989 to 2017. In the latter office, he was Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division and Executive Assistant U.S. Attorney. In 1985, Mr. Reed was also selected to serve on a Presidential Task Force on national security issues.

Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, Mr. Reed earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and history from the University of Pennsylvania in 1975. He then attained a Master of Science in international relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1977 and a Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School in 1980.

To commemorate his accomplishments, Mr. Reed was twice nominated for the DOJ John Marshall Award and received two Director's Awards in 2009 and 2014, respectively. He has also received many other awards from public and private institutions. Having realized in his childhood that there was a great deal of injustice in the world, he became passionate about entering public service to make a positive difference in people's lives – especially those who were especially vulnerable. Looking to the future, Mr. Reed plans to continue his work to help our society overcome its many challenges and divisions, enact policies that recognize our common humanity, and create a fairer and more just society.
