DES PLAINES, IL, September 16, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Very Rev. Esequiel Sanchez has been included in Marquis Who's Who. While earning a bachelor's degree in electronics engineering from the DeVry Institute of Technology, Reverend Sanchez changed fields and earned a Bachelor of Science in social psychology from Loyola University Chicago, Reverend Sanchez received a Master of Divinity and Baccalaureate of Systematic Theology from the University of St. Mary of the Lake. Subsequently, he joined the Archdiocese of Chicago as director of the Office for Hispanic Catholics. Due to his fluency in English, Italian, and the Spanish dialects of Puerto Rico, Mexico and Colombia, Reverend Sanchez excelled in the role for three years before becoming a pastor at Holy Trinity Croatian Church.
Driven to expand upon his expertise, Reverend Sanchez returned to the University of St. Mary of the Lake to work on a Licentiate of Systematic Theology in 2005 after which he returned to pastoral leadership and was appointed as a pastor for Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Cicero, IL, where he served between 2005 and 2011. Throughout the course of his career, he served as a contributor for NBC Telemundo, Univision and other media outlets on issues that concern the Hispanic community. In 2012 Reverend Sanchez would be appointed as a pastor with St. Bede the Venerable Church on Chicago's south side. Likewise, he received a certificate of completion in advanced pastoral studies from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
Supported by his considerable knowledge and experience, Reverend Sanchez presently serves as an instructor at Instituto del Liderazgo Pastoral, a priest sabbatical board member for the Archdiocese of Chicago, and as an advisory board member of Presence Health. Similarly, he excels as a Seminarian intern supervisor for the University of St. Mary of the Lake and as a rector with the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Outside of his work, he also contributes to his community through the Maryville Academy and the National Coalition for the Disabled.
In order to remain aware of industry changes, Reverend Sanchez aligns himself with the Cardinal's Administrative Council, the Archdiocesan Priest Placement Board, the National Association of Latino Priests, the Catholic Association of Latino Leaders, the Archdiocese of Chicago, and the Latino Disability Fund and Forum, to name only a few. Due to his vast experience, he has been featured in various media outlets and has been asked to represent the Catholic community. In light of his survival of Aeromexico air crash and acknowledging his leadership in Chicago, he received a Humanitarian Service Award from the State of Illinois in 2018. Within the next 10 years, Reverend Sanchez intends to revitalize the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe for the 500th Anniversary of the most iconic moment in Latin-American Catholic history- the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico 1531.
