A champion of public health, Ms. Ezepue is a Senior Healthcare Manager at a Community Health Centre in Ontario

A champion of public health, Ms. Ezepue is a Senior Healthcare Manager at a Community Health Centre in Ontario, where she works to improve the health outcomes of patients and vulnerable populations. Moreover, she oversees operations and leads a team of about 20 clinical and allied health staff. Her broad industry experience includes senior leadership roles at the Hamilton Urban Core Community Health Centre and also the Kitchener Downtown Community Health Centre, as well as positions at other health facilities in Ontario. Ms. Ezepue is also the Executive Director of Holistique Public Health, a nonprofit she founded as a way to enhance health care access to vulnerable populations, and those who have been left behind by the traditional healthcare system, and make a difference in the health sector. At Holistique, she is the administrator of health services operations, and her role includes finding and developing funding for the organization, as well as overseeing the expansion of operations across 4 countries. Under Ms. Ezepue's leadership, Holistique was involved in COVID-19 vaccination efforts and currently has a thriving research lab.
As a child growing up in Africa, Ms. Ezepue witnessed inadequacy and inequality in health care resources distribution, an experience that is the foundation of her professional pursuits. Ms.Ezepue is passionate about improving the health and well-being of vulnerable populations. Her passion to create positive change in vulnerable and underserved populations has been a major driver of her career pathway. She also credits her mother's support and model of helping others as significant motivation. Ms. Ezepue has ardently pursued higher education and built an impressive academic background, including a Master of Public Health from Brock University. She is currently enrolled in a Doctor of Science in rehabilitation and health systems leadership degree program at Queen's University. Ms. Ezepue expects to graduate in 2024. Her doctoral research is focused on improving access to skin and soft tissue infections treatment and support for people who inject drugs.
In 2020, Ms. Ezepue was proud to have been recognized with the Young Promising Leader Award, and recently been recognized as one of Canada's Top 100 Black Women To Watch 2022. She also holds critical industry credentials, including certificates in infection control and prevention and public health and safety. She is also actively involved in professional associations, including the Canadian Public Health Association, and the Canadian College of Health Leaders. Ms. Ezepue plans to extend the reach of her nonprofit organization by further expanding operations to increase reach and impact, and in the future, she envisions working for the United Nations or for the Canadian government in order to address upstream issues that create health inequity and implement even more positive, productive changes in national health care policies.
