Since 2018, Ms. Kittrell has avidly pursued creative endeavors outside of her service with the U.S. Armed Forces, including as a radio show host and author. She brings ample academic and professional training to these roles, including a Bachelor of Science in organizational leadership from the University of Charleston, earned in 2022, and two associate degrees: an Associate of Business Administration and Management and an Associate of Supervisor Management, both from Coastline Community College.
With an intense passion for leadership and mentoring people from diverse backgrounds, Ms. Kittrell has also accepted invitations to act as a motivational speaker, presenting remarks at several leadership ceremonies with high-ranking military officials in attendance. She emphasizes that every person who seeks a leadership role in society or in business has a unique narrative and personal strategy for meeting challenges; thus, she endeavors to deploy her expertise and experience, including Life Purpose Coach and Professional Life Coach certifications from the Transformation Academy, to guide others toward personal discovery. She has also completed additional training, including as a Postsecondary Instructor for the National Center for Competency Testing and, in 2016, she earned the rank of a Master Training Specialist.
Ms. Kittrell has proudly accepted various commendations for her service, including the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, which included a letter from President Barack Obama in 2015. Since 2022, she has been an active radio presence with her iHeart radio program titled "Unapologetically Favored." She also hosts a podcast for Transformation Talk Radio. Her books include the recent "Never be Afraid to Eat Alone," published in 2022, and its content encourages self-awareness and introspection. "Wake Up. Turn Up. Bless Up," released in 2020, serves as an inspirational book for working women. Her first book, "Unapologetically Favored: A Woman. A Leader. A Testimony," came out in 2019 and is a memoir that features personal details about Mrs. Kittrell's own struggles and achievements.
Ms. Kittrell cites special friends, her mother and her grandfather, who retired after 30 years as a sergeant major (E-9) with the United States Army, as her motivation. Moreover, she credits an ability to learn from mistakes and manage the natural sequence that life presents as the key to her success. Her vision for the future includes the pursuit of a master's degree in organizational leadership, and in 2024, Ms. Kittrell will retire from the military after 25 years of dedicated service. She aims to continue her affiliation with the Navy as a life coach, supporting Sailors who continue to face personal and professional obstacles.
