An education consulting firm, Education Today provides educational support solutions for leaders, teachers and coaches across industry lines. Additionally, they work closely with school district superintendents and principals to help at-risk students. Outside of her work. Ms. Rutherford serves on the board of Sankofa Academy and as a worship leader with The Bridge Fellowship. An expert in her field, she holds a lifetime teaching certificate through the Texas Education Agency by way of Teach for America and has become a state licensed life insurance agent through the Texas Department of Insurance. Additionally. Ms. Rutherford earned a Bachelor of Science in natural sciences from the distinguished Spelman College and continues studies towards her Master of Business Administration at Houston Baptist University.
Though her career has been filled with many highlights, Ms. Rutherford takes the most pride in co-writing a series of consumable dual language elementary math workbooks through her recently established publishing company, Texas STAAR Publishing, LLC. This 15-book series entitled Targeting STAAR Math in Texas, is available for first through fifth grade. Furthermore, during the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, EMC was able to obtain about $350,000 worth of contracts. In the years since they have received more than $1.5 million in contracts. The cornerstone of her success lies in her faith, creative power and innate positivity. Within the coming years, Ms. Rutherford intends to serve as a trainer on behalf of single mothers for whom she hopes to instill the importance of education and recreational traveling while exposing both themselves and their children to diverse perspectives through cultural immersion.
