PORTLAND, OR, October 03, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lynn Allen Boose has been included in Marquis Who's Who. After serving five years on active duty in the U.S. Navy, attaining the rank of lieutenant, Dr. Boose entered the University of Minnesota to earn a graduate degree in hospital administration. Following graduation, he spent 25 years as a hospital and medical center administrator for Kaiser Permanente, after which he worked at the Kaiser Center for Health Research for an additional five years while completing work for his Ph.D. Upon retiring from Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Boose served as the chief executive officer and president of Community Service Inc. for 22 years, a 501c3 corporation providing support services to individuals with lifelong developmental disabilities and persistent mental health challenges. During that time, he was also appointed by two different State Governors to serve on the State of Oregon Medicaid Long-Term Care Quality & Reimbursement Advisory Council to the Department of Human Services, for a period of seven years including as its Chair for 18 months.
An expert in his field, Dr. Boose holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and economics, a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota, a master's degree in urban studies and city planning, and a PhD in health policy for long-term care and chronic services from Portland State University. Driven to remain aware of ongoing industry changes, he affiliated himself with the Oregon Health Care Association and the American College of Medical Group Administrators where he achieved the status of Life Fellow.
Following his retirement in 2017 he commenced volunteer services as a member of the board of directors for New Narrative, Inc. including as a member and Chair of their Advisory Board for Northstar Clubhouse of Portland, both being mental health support service programs, the latter being accredited by Clubhouse International, Inc. While his career has been filled with standout moments, he is most proud to have championed the importance of chronic care services as a critical component of health care policy in the United States. He credits the influence of his parents regarding the need for continuous education and training to achieve expertise in one's chosen career. Dr. Boose intends to continue his volunteer work with NorthStar Clubhouse of Portland to help it fulfill its mission and full potential.
