Drawing inspiration from the example of his father, Charles Edmund Locke, Mr. Locke was driven to become an entrepreneur. He graduated in construction management and residential construction from George Brown College, Toronto during the late 1970s. Following this period, he became an adviser for the program for 12 years. Mr. Locke was hired as a construction superintendent for Bramalea, which at the time was the largest publicly traded real estate development company in North America.
In 1982, Mr. Locke started his own construction company, Peter C. Locke and Associates which completed over 300 projects from 1982 to 1996. One of those projects won 2nd place in best custom home design with the Toronto Homebuilders Association.
In 1987, Mr. Locke purchased Chenay Bay Beach Resort, a 40 acre beachfront hotel in St. Croix, USVI which he developed from 20 rooms to 50 rooms. He relocated there in 1996 and transformed the property into a 4 star resort along with becoming the only Gold Star RCI resort in the U.S. Virgin Islands and the number 1 property with American Airlines Vacations.
Along with owning and developing Chenay Bay Beach Resort, Mr. Locke was heavily involved in the marketing of St. Croix by starting and becoming president of the St. Croix Accommodations Council.
Drawing on his considerable knowledge, Mr. Locke established Quantum Building Group which focus was hurricane re-construction throughout the U.S. Virgin Islands.
After Mr. Locke sold Chenay Bay Beach Resort he returned to Toronto in 2012 and started https://invernessdesignbuild.ca/ which specializes in additions, renovations and custom home builds.
Mr. Locke still has a construction license in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Virgin Islands Design Build Group LLC, and plans to return to the U.S. Virgin Islands to continue development while keeping his business running in Toronto.
Alongside his work in the field, Mr. Locke has devoted himself to others by raising more than $100,000 for charity.
