A dedicated entrepreneur, Mr. Fowler serves as the owner of Alabama Stackers, a Jasper-based burger restaurant that he established at the age of 18. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing such daily operations as developing recipes, preparing food, ensuring quality and safety, and handling finance and payroll.
Mr. Fowler grew up in a low-income area in the Appalachians of North Carolina and Tennessee, where he spent much of his childhood in the foster care system. When he was 16 years old, he moved to Alabama with his foster family; there, he drew deeply from the influence of his foster brothers, who own a successful construction company. Likewise inspired by their love for reading, Mr. Fowler began studying economics and finance books and developed a plan to open a restaurant free from debt.
Mr. Fowler overcame exceptional odds to open Alabama Stackers, facing challenges — such as COVID-19 restrictions, high product costs, and product and labor shortages — to achieve his dream. Shortly after opening the restaurant in 2022, it was lauded as the best burger in Walker County by the Daily Mountain Eagle and featured in 78 Magazine.
A volunteer in his local community, Mr. Fowler enjoys helping a local women's shelter by offering jobs, supplying donations, and helping with events, being active with local churches, and sponsoring city and community events. He is also a member of the Chamber of Commerce of Walker County and Jasper Main Street, an organization of businesses in downtown Jasper.
