Ms. Shingleton's tenure in human resources includes several previous high-level positions throughout the state of WV. Prior to joining Mon Health System, she was employed by West Virginia University in Morgantown, beginning as a senior employee relations specialist and, subsequently, being promoted to a senior human resources business partner. Prior to her tenure at West Virginia University, she worked as a human resources coordinator with Murray American Energy, Inc. in Mannington where she specialized in labor relations. Ms. Shingleton began her professional career in the counseling industry, in which she specialized in vocational rehabilitation. Ms. Shingleton was hired as a senior vocational rehabilitation counselor for the West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services in 2006 and was awarded Employee of the Year in 2009. She was then promoted to the role of Quality Assurance Specialist where her passion for human resources began to develop.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Shingleton acquired a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology, magna cum laude, at Fairmont State College in 2003. In 2005, she acquired a Master of Science degree in rehabilitation counseling, magna cum laude, at West Virginia University. During this time, Ms. Shingleton was inducted into the American Psychological Association, Pi Gamma Mu, and Chi Sigma Iota Honor Societies. Ms. Shingleton is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) through the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification, a senior professional in human resources (SPHR) through the Human Resources Certification Institute, a strategic human resources business partner (sHRBP) through the Human Capital Institute and a certified professional through the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP). Furthermore, Ms. Shingleton has received numerous other credentials in such areas as human resources management and diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.
Ms. Shingleton has volunteered with noteworthy nonprofit organizations such as the United Way and has also volunteered as a caseworker for Hope Inc., and a disability services coordinator for Fairmont State College.
Ms. Shingleton attributes her professional success to perseverance, passion, and a drive for growth and excellence.
