Prior appointments with MTV Networks have provided him with ample experience in the industry, including as a senior executive from 2001 to 2005. In his various roles, he handled numerous high level cases and matters for the Fortune 50 media company.
As the owner of TEMPO Networks, Mr. Morton manages a team of creative personnel, including producers, videographers and graphic artists, spearheads business development and ensures the overall growth, mission and vision of the network. He counts the development of his own media company and television network as his greatest career achievement thus far, and acknowledges that securing approval from MTV Networks and developing a brand that is now a household name in its marketplace is a considerable accomplishment.
In accounting for his success, Mr. Morton credits his mentors, such as Tom Freston, the former chief executive officer of MTV Networks and Viacom and world-renowned lawyer, Johnnie Cochran Jr. His family legacy of entrepreneurism also impacted his academic and professional development as well, as did the superior work ethic modeled by his parents.
Mr. Morton holds impressive academic credentials, including a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and a Master of Public Administration from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. He also attained a Bachelor of Arts in economics, with an emphasis on finance, in 1989. Earlier, Mr. Morton completed coursework, as an Alfred P. Sloan Fellow, at the Summer Institute in Public Policy at Harvard University, as well as at Princeton University.
