    NEW YORK, NY, October 14, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert S. Bazan has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. Mr. Bazan serves as the chief operating officer for Chelsea Lighting, a premier leader in lighting and lighting control technologies based in Manhattan, New York. He has previously managed many major commercial and infrastructure projects for Chelsea since 2016, and currently oversees all of its operations.

As an executive of the organization, Mr. Bazan is responsible for the overall management of lighting, controls, logistics, and information systems. Utilizing more than 30 years of industry experience in engineering, operations, distribution, sales, marketing, and product development, he excels in his position and looks forward to many more years of continued success. Apart from his full-time responsibilities, Mr. Bazan is a retired Navy Captain with over 30 years of military experience including operations in Afghanistan and in Emergency Management with FEMA.

Serving the construction industry, Chelsea Lighting works throughout New York and other major cities throughout the country as a value added lighting and controls distributor on large commercial projects. Among the many organizations and buildings that the company has serviced in the New York area include the World Trade Center Complex, Hudson Yards, Grand Central Terminal, and LaGuardia Airport. Expanding operations in 2022, Chelsea Lighting now also has offices in Chicago, Philadelphia, and Florida. Chelsea was most recently named one of Crain's 2022 Best Places to work in NYC.

A leader and mentor in the field, Mr. Bazan previously garnered experience as a general manager for Apogee Translite in Deer Park, New York, from 2014 to 2016. He was also the director of specification sales for WAC Lighting in Port Washington, New York, between 2012 and 2014, and was the director of marketing for Neo-Ray Cooper Lighting in Hicksville, New York, from 2007 to 2012. During an earlier stage of his career, Mr. Bazan worked for Photocircuits Corporation between the years 1992 and 2006. Continually progressing in the field, he was eventually named as the director of new business development and subsequently the vice president of customer support. During his tenure, he was also influential in the growth of the company, helping to increase its revenue from $80 million to $400 million in a decade's time. Mr. Bazan also served as a restructuring officer for Photocircuits' restructuring committee where he successfully helped to reorganize the company during a Chapter 11 bankruptcy procedure.

Mr. Bazan frequently volunteers his time with the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation. He also serves as the charter organization representative for Troop 195 of the Boy Scouts of America and is a former blue and gold officer of the U.S. Naval Academy. Additionally, as a member of the American Legion, Mr. Bazan served as a commander and board chairman for Post 336. In retirement, Mr. Bazan aims to continue giving back to local organizations and serving on various community boards and committees.

Mr. Bazan studied at the U.S. Naval Academy where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in general engineering in 1986. He served on both active and reserve duty in the U.S. Navy from 1986 to 2016, having served abroad in Afghanistan, Korea and at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization headquarters in Brussels. Mr. Bazan also earned a Master of Business Administration at the University of Rhode Island in 1992. He holds a Joint Professional Military Education certification through the Air Command and Staff College at the Air University.

Honoring his achievements, Mr. Bazan has been the recipient of many personal awards and campaign service medals from the U.S. Navy. He is an avid runner and completed the NYC Marathon in 2013. Mr. Bazan was also recognized for being named to the New York Notable Veteran Executives by Crain's New York Business in 2021.
