Drawing on three decades of expertise as a teacher with Roanoke City Public Schools, Mr. Brown presently excels as president of Great Beginnings Academy, which was established by his sister in 2006. After her untimely death in 2020, the academy was given to him. With Great Beginnings, he provides child care services to children between 18 months and eight years of age. Additionally, Mr. Brown oversees daily business operations and works at the local church as the minister of music and as an administrator.
Outside of his work, Mr. Brown dedicates himself to his local church and is affiliated with Omega Psi Phi. An expert in his field, he holds a bachelor's degree in architectural drawing and drafting from Norfolk State University, and completed master's degree coursework. Throughout his career, he has been recognized as one of the teachers who had never missed a day from school.
While hard work and dedication have brought him far, Mr. Brown credits his success to the support of his parents. Though his career has been filled with standout moments, he takes the most pride in designing the architectural plan for the local church and the daycare. In the coming years, he hopes to receive a kidney transplant so that he can eventually stop his dialysis treatments. Ultimately, Mr. Brown aims to foster his health so that he can continue to grow in his role as president of Great Beginnings Academy.
