SOUTH WINDSOR, CT, October 18, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Raymond Robert Duzik, CISSP, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Duzik started his technical career with Olivetti-Underwood servicing typewriters because of his unique experience with electro mechanical computing systems. Having spent 6 years with Olivetti he was trained on the banking system and was recruited by Connecticut Bank & Trust as a telecom systems engineer, moving on in the 20 years enduring mergers and acquisitions and advancing to Director of Network Operations for Bank of New England. In 1992 Bank of New England was purchased by Fleet Bank and Mr. Duzik made the change to Lan Services Technical Support, received multiple certifications and in 2000 was laid off when Bank of Boston and Fleet merged and a large reduction in force caused him to leave. In 2000 he was recruited by Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) where he was a Senior Systems Administrator working on the Federal Department of Education. He then moved to The United Technologies Data Center when he was leader in Systems Availability of a Global Messaging System as well as all back-office systems and services. During the CSC years he was a night instructor at Porter and Chester Institute, a technical school in Connecticut, from 2002 to 2005. In 2009 he lost his job at CSC, which caused him to change his career path to cyber security, earn his CISSP and land a position as a Senior Cyber Security Analyst with Hartford Healthcare where he working until 2018 when he moved to Connecticut Children's Medical Center where he is employed today.

In addition to designing and implementing information technology security systems, he is responsible for protecting all computer networks from cyberattacks. Additionally, Mr. Duzik responds to and analyzes various cyber incidents, detects and monitors phishing schemes and monitors applications as the only member of the hospital's security operations center.
Among his most noteworthy accomplishments since joining the hospital, Mr. Duzik has never encountered any security breaches. Proud of being able to keep private hospital and patient information safe despite budget and labor constraints, Mr. Duzik notes, has been a significant achievement.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Duzik served more than five years as a torpedo and missile fire control technician. His fast attack submarine the USS Greenling (SSN-614) was notably mentioned twice in the declassified non-fiction book "Blind Man's Bluff;" Mr. Duzik was on board during those operations and received two Meritorious Service Citations as a result of his actions. Mr. Duzik also garnered recognition for breaking a record in which he qualified on the USS Greenling earning the coveted Silver Dolphins in just 43 days when the average qualification process takes more than 12 months. Qualifying on a USS submarine requires long hours of training and learning all of the systems that are integral to the operation of the sub, so, if the unforeseen happens where the person responsible for a system was not able to perform their duty, a submarine qualified person can step in and perform those responsibilities. To commemorate his accomplishments, Mr. Duzik was decorated with a Good Conduct Medal and a Connecticut Veteran's Medal.

Mr. Duzik graduated from high school in 1971 and completed college coursework at the University of Hartford. He is also a certified information systems security professional (CISSP), a certified trainer in Microsoft and a certified Novell engineer.
