Drawing on over five decades of diverse expertise, Mr. Garone specializes in finance, taxation and real estate appraisals. Since 2021, he has found much success as a firearms outfitter at Cabela's LLC, where he is responsible for appraisal of guns for purchase by the store and sales of guns to the customer. Prior to this role, he served as a field specialist and a senior appraiser for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) from 2008 until 2020. In this capacity, Mr. Garone managed all facets of residential, commercial, relocation and litigation appraisals for internal analysis relative to federal tax related issues.
In addition to his main vocation, Mr. Garone has been active as an instructor at various institutions since the mid 1990's, including adult education courses at the University of Colorado, Columbia Institute, the Armbrust Real Estate Institute, the Northern Colorado Association of Real Estate Appraisers, the Appraisal Foundation, and the Appraisal Institute. In this capacity, he teaches the Uniform Standards class, appraisal theory and application courses, general review theory, conservation and preservation easements, complaint case studies, specialized seminars and studies, certified appraiser series as well as litigation basics and case studies. Mr. Garone initially began his career at Mountain Bell and AT&T, where he served in a variety of leadership roles in the planning, engineering and personnel divisions from 1965 to 1985.
After his retirement from Mountain Bell and AT&T, Mr. Garone garnered expertise as treasurer of The RADCO Companies from 1984 to 1986. Between 1985 and 2008, he built a prolific career serving as an independent appraiser, a staff appraiser, a vice president of appraisal litigation and an appraisal reviewer for such companies as, Knutson Mortgage, Cryer and Associates Appraisers, the Chase Mortgage Company, formerly known as Mellon Mortgage Company, and the Lehman Brothers Bank. In his career related endeavors, Mr. Garone has authored and co-authored several of the classes and seminars offered by professional education organizations, lending institutions, and the federal government.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Garone completed relevant career coursework at the University of Colorado in Denver, and through the Appraisal Institute. As a commitment to his field, he has been licensed as a Certified General Appraiser in Colorado, certified as a USPAP Instructor, an Appraisal Institute member and a general review specialist via the Appraisal Institute. Additionally, Mr. Garone has been active with several industry-related organizations, including six years on the Colorado Appraisal Licensing Board, the Appraisal Foundation, the Adams County Government Center Board of Equalization and the Northern Colorado Association of Real Estate Appraisers, to only name a few.
