Kathleen M. Meagher has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

Ms. Meagher is recognized for her dedicated leadership for Special Olympics North Dakota

    GRAND FORKS, ND, October 25, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kathleen M. Meagher has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dedicated to improving opportunities for athletes of all backgrounds, Ms. Meagher served as a leader for Special Olympics North Dakota. A retired expert in nonprofit management and leadership, she was most recently the president and chief executive officer for the organization, having advanced to this role in 1987. In this capacity, she coordinated host town programs for the United States delegation and several countries such as Ireland, China, Japan, South Korea, Austria and the United Arab Emirates, among many others. In North Dakota, she engaged in fundraising event management, volunteer training and education regarding intellectual disabilities and autism.

In addition to her main career, Ms. Meagher is a member of the Kiwanis Club and volunteers with several local youth organizations. She also lends her expertise as a chair for the North Dakota Attorney General's Gaming Board. Prior to her current role, she began her career as the director of sports, recreational coordinator and high school coach for Special Olympics North Dakota in 1981.

Prior to embarking upon her professional journey, Ms. Meagher earned a Bachelor of Science in education and sports medicine from North Dakota State University in 1981. To commemorate her accomplishments, she was inducted into the North Dakota State University Hall of Fame in 1997 and was honored with a Leaders in Legacy Award from the state of North Dakota in 2021. Now that she has retired from working with Special Olympics North Dakota, she plans to continue her professional career in executive coaching, while focusing more on health and fitness in her leisure time.
