WARRENSBURG, NY, October 25, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lisa Collado has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Harboring a passion for the arts from a young age, Lisa Collado is an independent visual artist celebrating more than 25 years of professional expertise.

Featured in group and solo shows throughout the United States and Europe, Ms. Collado aims to tackle complex issues through her work. She begins her process with a general idea of theme and composition and her ideas soon bloom into marvelous works of art. Artistically, she is best known for her multimedia collage pieces based on found photographs, original oil on canvas paintings and three-dimensional textural items. Renowned among those in her field, she has notably developed a unique collage process that highlights the contrast and visual texture inherent in the medium.

Exhibitions of Ms. Collado's work include group shows at Arizona State University in Phoenix, Arizona, along with shows throughout New York state at the Chestertown Library in Chestertown, Rock Hill Café in South Glen Falls, the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum in Newburgh, the Johnsburg Library and the Tannery Pond Community Center in North Creek, Richards Library in Warrensburg and Adirondack Community College in Queensbury. Ms. Collado has also participated in several group exhibitions with the National Association of Women Artists, including "Spring Into Summer," "The Nature of Things" and "Artist as Alchemist" through the Metro Artists Salon for the Pfizer Company.

In the early 2000s, Ms. Collado was a presenter at the Cathedral Center for the Arts in Phoenix, Arizona, as well as featured in "East Meets West" at The Emerging Collector in New York City and "Collage Paintings" at the Hamilton House Museum in Clifton, New Jersey. Notably, her works were also displayed at Galerie Pro Arte Kasper in Switzerland in 1996 and 2004. For her success in the creative space, Ms. Collado has been the recipient of the Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation Award and the Jackson Pollock Award in 1985, which are both dedicated to providing financial assistance to individual working artists of established ability.

Before beginning her fine arts practice, Ms. Collado earned a Bachelor of Arts in comparative literature from Harvard University and later pursued a Master of Arts from New York University in 1991, concentrating her study on the work of contemporary women artists. To remain abreast of her field, she maintains affiliation with the National Collage Society and the American School Counselor Association. She also serves on the board of the National Association of Women Artists and is active with the North Country Ministry.

Ms. Collado's philosophy of practice is that "art is there to make you happy," and she considers the highlight of her career to have been the opportunity to help several artists rediscover their inspiration and dedication to their practice. By steering artists back onto their creative journey, she finds inspiration for her own creative process. In accounting for her success, she credits her natural passion for the craft and the joy that it sparks in her, as well as her propensity to work hard to reach her goals. Ms. Collado also recognizes the mentorship of Murray Pease and Thomas Messer, the former director of the Guggenheim Museum, who were very encouraging and supportive of her career.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Collado aims to return to participating in gallery shows following a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Of course, she plans to continue producing more of her art and even delve into the world of writing, as she desires to explain the process of her art through the written word. Her advice to aspiring artists is to visit museums, study paintings and become familiar with whatever appeals to them aesthetically. Essentially, be very observant of art's beauty.
