Drawing on years of professional experience, Mr. La presently excels as the owner of DTL LLC, a public accounting practice that works with individual, partnership, and corporate clients throughout Connecticut. In addition to serving as an advisor, he prepares various kinds of tax returns and represents taxpayers before the IRS. Previously, he worked as a bank consultant for Citibank, where he created the final balance sheet of on and off-shore deposits and established corporate policies regarding rates.
During the early stages of his career, Mr. La gained valuable expertise as the controller, assistant treasurer, and executive chief accounting officer for Derby Saving Bank. Between 1981 and 1993, he oversaw strategic planning, forecasting, and cash flow projections, and maintained responsibility for reviewing and approving internal and external reports. Outside of his work, Mr. La has dedicated himself to those less fortunate by raising money to help people in Vietnam and donating to Pagoda Temple.
In order to remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. La aligns himself with the International American Association of Finance & Management and the American Society of Tax Problem Solvers. An expert in his field, he holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Central Connecticut State University, and an MBA and Master of Science in accounting from the University of Hartford. Driven to expand upon his knowledge, he also became a certified tax resolution specialist.
