He presently serves as the director of supply chain management for Welspun Tubular LLC, having joined the company in 2009. In this capacity, he handles all planning and project management, as well as production scheduling, purchasing, inbound and outbound logistics and implementation management for the company, working with more than 25 people as a supervisor. Additionally, he serves as a member of the Arkansas District Export Council and previously lent his expertise as the vice chair for the organization.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Desai began his career as a teaching assistant for Syracuse University in 2005, after which he served as a production engineer for Welch Allyn in 2006. He subsequently became a project engineer with B/E Aerospace, where he worked from 2007 until 2009. To prepare for his career, Mr. Desai earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Bhavnagar University in India in 2004. He subsequently attained a Master of Science in the same field of study from Syracuse University in 2007. Well qualified in his field, he holds an honor code certificate for introduction to Oil Country Tubular Goods and is a Six Sigma black belt professional as well.
