Drawing on years of professional expertise, Ms. Bruno presently serves as the senior information risk officer for Verisk. Since 2015, she has managed the Security Architecture Review Board, overseen scheduled appointments, performed threat and risk assessments to determine residual risk, and worked with accounting firms to assist with audits. Prior to obtaining her current position, Ms. Bruno worked as the vice president of compliance for Pershing, a BNY Mellon company.
During the early stages of her professional journey, Ms. Bruno gained considerable expertise with Pershing as its vice president for surveillance and risk management and the vice president of the Branch Control Group and Investment Manager Services. Additionally, she worked in associate and supervisory roles with Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith.
Outside of her primary career efforts, Ms. Bruno contributes to her community through Fighting Pretty. Throughout her career, she has expanded upon her expertise, completing coursework at Broward Community College, earning a certification in risk and information systems control through ISACA, and becoming certified through the International Association of Privacy Professionals. Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, Ms. Bruno aligns herself with the Information Systems Audit and Control Association and the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
In recognition of her professional experience, Ms. Bruno won the Leadership Award through Pershing Advisor Solutions, LLC in 2005, 2006 and 2012, and the Make a Difference Award for Mentoring, as well as a Spot Award in 2010. Though her career has been filled with highlights, she takes the most pride in attaining her certification in risk and information systems control, as well as the Cloud Practitioner certification. In accounting for her success, she credits the lessons she learned from her father, who impressed upon her the value of showing up early and preparing for any eventuality. Looking toward the future, Ms. Bruno intends to expand upon her knowledge and remain active in her role with Verisk.
