Following this post, she was active as an instructor, speaker and conference organizer at Hilton Hotels and Resorts, while contributing to various local hotels as a general manager for six years. In addition to her primary professional endeavors, Ms. Amado has built a prolific career as the owner of Mendez Amado and Associates Inc. since 1992.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Amado pursued an education at The University of Texas at Austin, where she completed coursework in microbiology in 1977. She continued her academic efforts at Klessheim Tourismusschulen in Salzburg, Austria, earning a bachelor's degree in hotel management in 1986. As a commitment to her field, she is a certified hotelier and has been active with several industry-related societies, including the International Destination Wedding Planners Association. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. Amado volunteers as an event planner and donor at numerous fundraisers, nonprofit art auctions and nongovernmental charity organizations.
Though her professional journey has been filled with many memorable moments, Ms. Amado is especially proud of her ability to embrace and evolve with the constant changes in technology and developments within the industry as an entrepreneur and a Latin American woman.
